Prominent personalities, family members, church members, staff of The Polytechnic Ibadan, and well-wishers gathered on Sunday to celebrate the appointment of Dr. Taiwo Lasisi as Rector of The Polytechnic Ibadan and the 60th birthday thanksgiving of his wife.
The Thanksgiving service, held at The Apostolic Church Nigeria Agbowo Assembly, where Dr. Lasisi worships, brought together dignitaries and members of the community to honour the occasion.
Speaking during the service, Dr Lasisi expressed gratitude to God, singing a song of praise in appreciation for giving him the grace to witness the milestones in his life and career.He also extends gratitude to his wife for her unwavering support, describing her as a virtuous woman.
His wife, Deaconess Mrs Grace Lasisi, give thanks to God for His faithfulness over the family and also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to celebrate another year of her life alongside her husband.
In his charge, the officiating minister, Pastor M. U. Effomah, urged members and guests to always remember the favours and benefits they receive from God, as stated in the Holy Bible.
Pastor Effomah further stressed the importance of thanksgiving and encouraged the congregation to show gratitude and appreciation to God whenever they receive His blessings and favours.
Recall that, Dr Lasisi had earlier been serving as the Acting Rector of the institution following his appointment by the state government on March 25, 2024.
The service ended with prayers for peace and stability in Nigeria and Oyo State, as well as prayers for the management, staff and students of The Polytechnic Ibadan.
