It is a Jubilation season as the National Diploma 2 (ND2) students of the Mass Communication Department wins the ASCOM HOD's Cup today, 23rd of March, 2021.
It could be recalled that the ASCOM HOD's Cup, a tournament organized by the student body of the Mass Communication department commenced on Monday with 6 teams which includes HND2, HND1, ND2, ND1A, ND1B, and PTs participated.
ND2 team won the tournament, defeating ND1(a) after a penalty shoot out which resulted to a 4 - 1 in favor of the ND2, a match which was played at the North Campus Football Pitch of the institution.
In the same development, the Head of Department (HOD) of Mass Communication, Alh. Najimdeen Adunola who graced the Final Match rewarded the winning team with a cash price of Ten Thousand Naira (10,000).
Adunola also gifted Four Thousand Naira (N4,000) to the runners up while the man of the match, Idris popularly known as Kante goes home with a thousand naira (1,000).
The Man of the Match, who doubles as a player from the ND1 team, Idris fondly known as Kante was awarded the "Man of The Match" after he successfully controlling the midfield and created most chances in the match.
One of the players of the Champion, Oni Tolulope in an interview with ASCOM Eye Correspondent, Kadelu Oluwole maintained that the tournament was not an easy task, but the team try its best to make their way to the finals and go home with the Cup and Gold medals.
