Polyibadan ASCOM Pulls Giants Strides, Takes Over 300 Students To Cocoa House For Academic Tour

Ibadan. 

The Association of Students Communicators (ASCOM), of The Polytechnic, Ibadan has again set a major landmark among contemporaries as it takes over Three Hundred (300) students under its umbrella on an educative Academy Tour to the ancient Cocoa House, Ibadan. 


ASCOM, a Student association body for Mass Communication Students in the great citadel of Learning who made this development known in a communique signed by the Association President, Com. Haadi Afeez Ishola and made available to newsmen by the Association's Public Relations Officer, Miss. Opawole Endurance maintained that the academic tour to the Cocoa House which happens to be the first skyscraper was organized on the 15th April, 2021. 


The Association during the tour visited the Odua Museum, at the last (25th) floor, where the Curator, Mr. Jide Famuyiwa took the students around and educate them about the history of some legends in Nigeria including the likes of  Dr. Kunle Olasope who is the first Nigeria man to show on Television, Ọba Sir, Adesoji Aderemi who was a monarch and former Governor that ruled the western region between 1960 - 1962. 


Students were also enabled to see a lot of ancient artifacts, archival instruments, and historical illustrations about legendary personalities in Nigeria.


The ASCOM President, Com. Haadi Afeez Ishola in his words appreciate the entire students of Mass Communication for turning up for the social - educative event.


Other Executive Members present at the Tour are, Ascom Financial Secretary, Com. Ogundele Ayodele, Ascom Welfare, Com. Ajibade Ayomide, Ascom Public Relations Officer 2, Com. Olajugbagbe Joshua and Ascom Treasurer, Com. Sowemimo Abiola.
