The students of the department of Mass Communication, have triumphed at the Muslim Student Society of Nigeria, The Polytechnic, Ibadan Chapter’s competitions.
The students society awarded the Sport Director of the Association of Student Communicators, Comrade Ibrahim Aderogba and an ND1 student, Mr. Badmus Qoyyum, during her formal orientation programme for 2022/2023 academic session, held at the 1000 Capacity Theatre, on Sunday.
After his points on the discourse, ‘Muslim-Muslim Ticket in a democratic setting: Anything Wrong?’, overwhelmed other students’ arguments and satisfied by the judges, Comrade Ibrahim Aderogba came as a ‘Runner-up’. While Badmus Qoyyum was rewarded for his participation in Al-Quran competition.
While speaking with the Ascom Press correspondent, Aderogba thanked the organisers of the competition for the privilege given to him to showcase his talent before the public.
“Though I have been partaking in debate competitions since primary school but this one is special to me. This is my first award of excellence and I am very glad to receive it”, he added.
He encouraged his colleagues to strive for excellence and be self determined.
The Coordinator of the Muslim Communicators Forum, Mr. Abdul-Wareez Olalekan Ahmed, expressed that he was glad to witness and receive this remarkable achievement under his administration.
Wareez said, "All the muslim forums on campus were informed about the programme and competitions but some department found it difficult to provide representatives. I am happy that we went, participated and conquered”.
