Association of Students Communicators (ASCOM) PRESS has recorded yet another milestone as new board were inaugurated.
The event which took place at the department on the early hours of Monday, 11th November 2024.
The event which is recorded to be the first of its kind, as inauguration has never been done physically before.
The past ASCOM executives, outgoing ASCOM press board, departmental stakeholders, and students were present to witness this August Occasion organized by the PRESS BOARD.
The event was filled with a lot of encouragement and speech by individuals, admonishing the new board to uphold the ethics of journalism and also create a good image for the department.
Kadelu Oluwole Benedict, the immediate past ASCOM PRESS Editor- in chief, advised the new board to work with the press members and not to serve as enemies cause the press is the friend of everyone.
"Don't be intoxicated with power, create a good image for the department, create a legacy and break records ". He added.
While speaking at the event , the immediate past ASCOM President, Comrade Gbolahan Faruq also urged the newly appointed press board to uphold the Image of the Department and work hand in hand with the departmental Excos to archive greater heights.
Olasupo Taofeeqat Olamide appointed as the Editor -in-chief, Akinwale Peter Olamiposi,Deputy Editor -in-chief, Olayiwola Kabirat Bolanle , Production manager, Anwoju Emmanuel Timileyin , Public Relations Officer to serve the 2024/25 academic session.
The inauguration was graced by both ASCOM Past and present executives as they offer their heartfelt congratulatory messages about the achievements.
