Association of students'Communicators organized it's friendly football match between the staylites and the freshers students in order to uphold the unity and oneness amongst students. In lieu of this, the HND1 students popularly know with their field name (Beast Nation Football Club), representing the HND1 class, achieved a commendable victory in the ASCOM competition by triumphing over the ND1 class in a penalty shootout, following a tough loss in their opening match.
Despite the setback of an injured key player in their previous game, HND1 demonstrated resilience and adaptability, advancing thanks to a walkover against the absent HND2 team. They skillfully turned around their fortunes against ND1, securing a 2-0 win, which reflected their progress and determination.
Continuing to build momentum, HND1 further showcased their improvement by defeating HND2 3-0, followed by a solid 2-0 victory against ND2, and finishing off the competition with another impressive 2-0 result against the Part-Timers.
In addition to their championship win, Salam Waris Akorede, known as Foden, was justly awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his exceptional contributions throughout the tournament.
Mr. Suilamon Azeez Kehinde shared his insights on HND1's performance, noting, "They (HND1) played exceptionally well and took control of the match. While they faced challenges in capitalizing on certain opportunities, their overall execution was commendable, and they rightfully earned their victory."
He highlighted the efforts of key players, such as Foden, Deroju, and Wilson, whose performances were pivotal to the team's success.
After the match, Remilekun, the captain also known as Jagaban, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all supporters and thoughtfully presented a token of appreciation to Anuoluwapo, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and community in achieving their goals.
