The Dean of the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies (FBCS) at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Dr. OmoKehinde Faniyi, urged staff members to embrace peace during the interdenominational service held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
This service, the first of its kind, was organized to foster a cordial relationship among the faculty staff practicing different religions and to invite divine guidance in the affairs of the faculty.
In her welcome remarks, the Dean emphasized the importance of cooperation and unity among faculty members. "There will inevitably be misunderstandings, but resolving them and allowing peace to prevail will uphold the integrity of the faculty," she added.
The program commenced with melodious songs performed by the Music Department of the institution, followed by a series of planned activities anchored by Dr. Olusoji Olatunji, the Head of the Mass Communication Department.
The service featured spiritual contributions from two priests representing the different faiths. The Christian prayer session was led by Dr. Alimi, the Head of Department of Art, Design, and Printing Technology. In his message, he highlighted the importance of righteousness and truthfulness in receiving blessings.
Mr. Wahab from the public Administration Department,who led the Muslim prayers, similarly preached against sin and urged everyone to remain faithful in their actions.
The event was well attended by both teaching and non-teaching staff, heads of departments, the Dean of Student Affairs, faculty executives, and students.
