The much-anticipated ASCOM President Cup Novelty kicked off on a friendly yet competitive note. The electrifying match featured a clash between ASCOM Living Legends and ASCOM Executives, with the primary aim of fostering unity, sportsmanship, and student engagement within the department.
In a pre-match interview, the ASCOM President, Comrade Ohamuo Frank, highlighted the significance of the event, noting that it was designed to bridge the gap between past leaders and current executives while promoting harmony and sustained rapport within the association.
Similarly, the ASCOM Sports Director, Comrade Olatoye Ridwan, explained that the match was named the ASCOM President Cup in honour of the incumbent president. According to him, the initiative serves as a platform to promote peace and unity among executives and past leaders, both within and beyond the school community.
In addition, an ASCOM Legend and former team captain, Leader Kadelu Oluwole, expressed delight at returning to the pitch. He described the encounter as a refreshing experience that rekindled fond memories while strengthening bonds of unity among members.
The keenly contested match saw the ASCOM Living Legends take the lead in the second half, scoring the only goal of the game.
The encounter ended peacefully with a final scoreline of 1–0. Overall, the ASCOM President Cup Novelty was a remarkable success, demonstrating the unifying power of sports and reinforcing the values of teamwork, unity, and fair play.
