Kehinde Ayanboade,
Ibadan.
The academic and non-academic staff unions of The Polytechnic Ibadan have considered the appeal of the Chairman of its Governing Council and suspended its industrial action over non-implementation of the new national minimum wage and imposition of platinum consultant on the school management by the Oyo State government.
Recall that the workers have been on an indefinite industrial strike action since 11th of January 2021 following the resolution of a special congress of the unions.
The strike action was said to be suspended for twenty-one (21) days to honour Governor Seyi Makinde and the Governing Council of the institution and give them enough time to revisit their grievances.
Subsequent information would be made available as it unfolds.
