The Department of Mass Communication at The Polytechnic Ibadan held a formal send-off ceremony for two Corps members on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
The Corps members, Adejumobi Oluwatosin and Metilelu Olabisi, who dedicated themselves to their National Youth Service within the department, received heartfelt appreciation and encouragement from the Head of Department and the staff.
During the event, the lecturers fondly recalled the hard work exhibited by these individuals and acknowledged their exemplary representation of both their institution and their families.
Dr. Olusoji Olatunji, the Head of the Department, emphasized the significance of this occasion, noting that it marked a historic moment as the department had not previously organized a send-off for any Corps members. He remarked, "This is a testament to your diligence; do not underestimate the power of prayer and continue to cultivate your inner strength."
Mr. Adeyemi Adedokun, one of the esteemed lecturers in the department, advised the two Corps members to not solely rely on white-collar opportunities but to also cultivate their talents and initiatives.
Mr. Olawale Olagoke, a senior lecturer in the department, was present at the event and not only offered encouragement but also bestowed prayers upon them.
Additionally, attendees included Mr. Johnson, Mr. Adeniyi, Mrs. Olabode, Mrs. Oke, and Mrs. Abegunde, all of whom praised the Corps members, provided encouragement, and offered prayers. Their warm support filled the atmosphere with awe and joy, accompanied by gifts of appreciation.
