The President of the Association of Student Communicators (ASCOM), Comrade Ohamuo Frank Uchenna, has called on members of the Muslim Communicators Forum (MCF) to rally behind his administration in fostering the growth of the Department of Mass Communication and addressing the welfare needs of students.
Speaking during an interactive session with members of the Forum, Ohamuo expressed appreciation for the warm invitation and assured that the MCF would not be left out in the department’s developmental strides. He reaffirmed his commitment to work closely with all student groups for the collective progress of the department.
In his admonition, the Ameer of MSSN, Yusuf Adedokun Adedotun, charged members to fear Allah in all their dealings and remain steadfast in their faith. He urged members to maintain unity, share constructive ideas, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the Forum.
Adedotun further advised that the practice of Islam should not hinder academic excellence or participation in students’ activities, emphasizing the importance of being responsible ambassadors of the Forum within their respective classes.
Both the immediate past in the person of Almusty and current coordinators of the MCF in person of Akewula Abduljelil took turns to seek continuous support, cooperation, and guidance from the department and its members to enhance the Forum’s sustainability and relevance.
The engagement between ASCOM and the Muslim Communicators Forum is step toward reaffirmation of the spirit of inclusiveness, collaboration, and shared responsibility within the Mass Communication Department.
The session ended with renewed enthusiasm from both parties to work together for academic excellence, spiritual growth, and the holistic development of students in the department and The Polytechnic, Ibadan at large.
