The Mass Communication Department of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, conducted its ND1 mid semester test today, Tuesday.
The two days test kick start with ND1 and HND1 on Tuesday 9th December 2025 at the Sewage hall. It was the first official test organized by the department since the institution resumed for the 2025/2026 first semester. The test will conclude on Wednesday 10th December 2025 with ND2 and HND2 writing their paper.
This step is meant to assess the students' level of understanding of their course lectures and how well they have assimilated what they have been taught so far in class.
However, a large number of students were excused from participating. According to the Head of Department, they were not allowed to sit for the test because they had not paid their tuition fees or had failed to comply with the departmental rules required for eligibility.
"Do not deceive yourself. If you know you have not paid your tuition fee, kindly go home. Only those who have paid, with proof of payment, will be allowed to take this test. And if you are not properly dressed in your departmental uniform with your tie and proper black shoes, you will also be excluded," the HOD said.
The HOD advised the affected students to ensure they pay their tuition fees before next week Tuesday so they can be eligible for the upcoming general make up test.
