The National South South Students Union (NASSSU), The Polytechnic, Ibadan, successfully held its final congress of 2025, which featured an exciting food competition designed to test speed and endurance in eating.
The colourful event brought together students from diverse cultural backgrounds in a vibrant celebration of culinary skill, unity, and entertainment, creating an atmosphere filled with fun and friendly rivalry.
The highlight of the congress was the food competition, which saw contestants Hogas Favor and Favour Ejetareme demonstrate impressive eating prowess across a variety of traditional dishes. After a keenly contested challenge, Hogas Favor emerged as the overall winner, clinching the top position amid loud cheers from the audience.
Beyond the main contest, the programme was enriched with several engaging activities, including the “Fastest Finger” game, where participants competed to win recharge card prizes, as well as the “Face of the Week” segment. The segment also served as a fundraising initiative for participating families, as the congress marked the final gathering of the year.
The NASSSU Food Competition 2025 once again highlighted the creativity, enthusiasm, and strong sense of camaraderie among students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan. The union congratulated all participants and winners, while expressing optimism for a bigger and more exciting edition in the coming year.
