The HND2, Babalola Bolu, and Abiodun Felix students of Mass Communication department in The Polytechnic, Ibadan have been declared the winner of the ASCOM Oratorical Contest 2026 Duet Edition.
The Oratorical Contest, organized by the departmental executives, Era of Dynamic Growth, featured students across all levels alongside some other participants from various department under the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies (FACOMBSA) were received.
In his speech, The President of the Association of Communicators, Comr. Frank Ohamuo, warmly appreciate the presence of everyone, as it had a colorful value to the event and also the significant of day.
He described the contest as not just a mere competition but a gathering that is designed to shape ability of students, promote humanity, and also intellectual engagement among students.
The participants were judged on four bases which are: presentation, content originally, stage management, and dressing.
In the end, the judges were able to announce the HND2 representatives, as the one with the first position, While the HND1 students came second, the ND1 students, with a close margin, were declared third position, while the ND2 students came fourth.
Speaking with Ascom Press Correspondent the winners of the contest, Felix and Bolu reiterated that is an honour to represent the apex class of the department joy he has representing his class. They also use the opportunity to advise their fellow participants stating that a win for one is a win for all under the umbrella of Ascom.
The oratorical contest duet edition is the first in the history of Ascom to accommodate participants from other department recording a massive achievement to the Era of Dynamic Growth agenda of the current administration.
